Artist Statement<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have long explored how the sense of transience within existence might be translated onto the surface of painting. My works often center on the motif of girls, while at times depicting flowers, landscapes, houses, and scenes from everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent years, I have come to feel that the very time spent observing and sensing these subtle transformations holds a quiet preciousness. I began to realize that such moments form the delicate outline of everyday peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since late last year, my attention has returned to the lines of Henri Matisse. In particular, the richness of line in his cut-out works\u2014such as Blue Nude<\/em>\u2014has deeply fascinated me. I came to feel that these lines evoke a sense of anticipation. By drawing such anticipation, the motif itself seems to shift and transform naturally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This exhibition presents works ranging from earlier pieces to newly created paintings, focusing primarily on the theme of line. Through the challenge of allowing lines to exist within the weight and presence of painting, I seek to capture a subtle image of anticipation toward the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
