大槻香奈個展「明日への予感」
存在の「うつろい」をどう画面に落とし込むか？
その課題を抱えて、私は長年絵画に向き合ってきた。表現の主なモチーフは少女で、時に花や風景、家や日々の様子を描くこともあった。
ある存在がうつろい、変化していくということ… 近頃はその対象を眺めたり感じたりしている「時間」そのものが非常に尊いと感じるようになった。なぜならそれが、日々の平和の輪郭であると気付いたからだ。
うつろいは必ずしも愛でる必要はない。ある存在を確認しているだけで十分な気もしている。存在が変化するということは、ある流れの中に生きているということ。その中に美しさを見出しても見出さなくても良いのだが、私はそれを絵画にすることで、ある存在が生きていることの尊さを確認したい気持ちがある。いつもそうやって絵と向き合ってきた。
昨年末あたりからアンリ・マティスの線に改めて興味を持つようになった。マティスの切り絵作品にあらわれる豊かな線に憧れを持ち、このふしぎな素敵さは何だろう？と考えれば、それは存在の「予感」だと思った。特に作品『ブルー・ヌード』にて女性の身体そのものが持つ未来への可能性を切り絵（線と色）で表現された世界に、そうか、マティスの描く予感は「うつろい」なのだと思った。
言葉を変えれば「予感を描けば自然とモチーフはうつろう」のだ。今の時代、絵描きとして考えるべきは「予感を描くこと」ではないか？と思った。
おそらく誰しもが拭いきれない暗さと共に生きている現代に、予感のイメージを作ることは大変に難しい。けれども絵画なら、形にすれば何か希望を見出せる。そこから大切なものが見えてくるかもしれない。
私は長年、自分の作品の中で「線」を絵画化することで、そのあたりを探ってきたように思う。なので本展では過去作品から最新作の描き下ろしまで、主に線を主題にした絵画を展示する。
そもそも線はちゃんと絵画になるのだろうか？ドローイングでもスケッチでもない、ペインティングのような重さで線を画面の中に存在させることは可能だろうか？そういった技法の挑戦によって、私は未来への予感のイメージを確かに描き出したい。
Artist Statement
I have long explored how the sense of transience within existence might be translated onto the surface of painting. My works often center on the motif of girls, while at times depicting flowers, landscapes, houses, and scenes from everyday life.
In recent years, I have come to feel that the very time spent observing and sensing these subtle transformations holds a quiet preciousness. I began to realize that such moments form the delicate outline of everyday peace.
Since late last year, my attention has returned to the lines of Henri Matisse. In particular, the richness of line in his cut-out works—such as Blue Nude—has deeply fascinated me. I came to feel that these lines evoke a sense of anticipation. By drawing such anticipation, the motif itself seems to shift and transform naturally.
This exhibition presents works ranging from earlier pieces to newly created paintings, focusing primarily on the theme of line. Through the challenge of allowing lines to exist within the weight and presence of painting, I seek to capture a subtle image of anticipation toward the future.
